Job Description
1. Roles and Responsibilities
POLY Gwangjin is looking for qualified homeroom teachers to serve as a kindergarten to elementary school age teacher. You will be teaching mainly kindergarten classes with some elementary classes in the afternoons.
POLY specializes in helping students who have lived abroad extensively and have advanced English levels. As a teacher, you will need to be a quick thinker and be able to facilitate critical discussions in class.
You will be responsible for the following:
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons
Prepare teaching materials ahead of time
Grade regular homework assignments
Prepare and create tests and examinations
Track and report students’ performance and give feedback
Teach advanced English level kindergarten students ages 6-7 speaking, stories, arts and crafts, phonics, reading, and writing
Teach advanced English level elementary school students through speaking and writing, reading, grammar, and book discussion classes
2. Candidate Qualifications:
Foreigners (E-2, F-2, F-5, F-6 Visa Holders)
Candidates MUST be a citizen of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, or South Africa
Candidates MUST have a minimum of a bachelor degree from an accredited university
Candidate that are currently abroad MUST have their diploma apostilled and a federal level criminal background check with a federal level apostille (issued within 6 months) ready to go
F-4 Visa Holders
F-4 visa holders must have their diploma apostilled and their nationwide criminal background check READY TO GO
3. Visa Sponsorships
We sponsor E-2 visas.
4. Working Conditions
Start Date: Training starts the end of February and classes start in March
Working Hours: M+W: 9:15-8:00 Tu+Th: 9:00-6:30. Fri: 9:00-5:45
Teaching Hours: 47 hours/week
Age Level: 5-12 years old (Class Size: 21 Max)
5. Salary and Benefits
Salary: From 2.7 million KRW
Insurance and Financial: Insurance and pension will be matched by the employer
Contract Completion Bonus: Provided upon completion of the contract
Vacation: 5 Days Summer - 5 Days Winter plus Korean national holidays
Housing: Studio housing or 400,000 KRW housing allowance provided
