Job Description
1. Role and Responsibilities
GDA Junior School is looking for qualified individuals who are passionate about global education and teaching young learners to become an instructor in our English kindergarten and elementary program.
The ideal candidate will
Be enthusiastic about working with kindergarten- and elementary-aged children
Demonstrate a strong ability to adapt
Bring creativity and thoughtfulness to designing effective lessons
Responsibilities
Plan engaging lessons based on our curriculum
Prepare materials as necessary
Grade homework assignments
Prepare and create monthly examinations
Track and report students’ performance and give regular feedback
2. Candidate Qualifications
All E-2, F-2, F-5, and F-6 Visa Holders who meet the following criteria are welcome to apply:
Candidates must be a citizen of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa
All candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
3. Job Overview
Start Date: March 2, 2022 (new instructors who can arrive early will receive extensive training from a highly-qualified teacher trainer)
Working Hours: 9:10 am - 6:00pm
Teaching Hours: Kindergarten: 9:30 am - 2:20 pm, Elementary: 2:40 pm - 5:50 pm*
*Daily schedule depends on number of enrolled students. There are ample preparation periods scattered throughout the week.
Class Size: 12 students per class max
Co-teacher: Bilingual co-teacher accessible at all times
Age Level: Kindergarten to elementary (5-12 years of age)
4. Salary and Benefits
Salary: From 2.4 Million KRW (negotiable depending on teaching experience and qualifications); severance pay equal to the average of last three months' wages paid upon completion of contract
Insurance and Pension: Insurance and pension matched by employer
Vacation: 10 days (5 days in summer and 5 days in winter) + Korean National Holidays
Housing: Studio housing provided
Airfare: Flight reimbursement for new arrivals
