Job Description
1. Role and Responsibilities:
Little School is a private, Christian kindergarten located in the Gangnam area of Seoul, South Korea. Little School is seeking qualified and professional candidates to serve as a Kindergarten Homeroom teacher. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient and work well with young children, some of whom are just beginning to learn English.
Each person is designated as a specific subject teacher in five, six or seven year old age groups for kindergarten. Teachers will also be required to teach small, elementary level classes on certain days of the week. A good teacher for this position would be flexible, organized, and has a positive attitude. Little School is currently looking for teachers who love children and God, but is flexible if the right person is found for the job.
You will be responsible for the following:
Teach subject classes to children ages 5-7 years old
Teach Elementary classes on certain days of the week
Choose from a wide range of subjects including: math science, art, English, cooking and PE
Create a fun and engaging supplementary activities for students
Grade basic homework assignments and write up report cards each semester on student progress
Attend weekly staff meetings and seminars
2. Position: Full-Time Kindergarten Teacher
Start Date: March 1, 2021
Working Hours: (Monday - Friday) 9:00am-5:30pm
Teaching Hours: 7-8 hours per day
Extra Classes: Optional (30,000 KRW per hour)
Students per Class: 12-14 (Kindergarten), 6-8 (Elementary)
In-class Co-teacher: Bilingual Korean Co-Teacher
Age Level: 5-7 (Kindergarten), 8-11 (Elementary)
English Level: Basic to Intermediate
3. Salary and Benefits
Salary: From 2.1 Million KRW (Negotiable Upon Experience and monthly working hours)
Insurance and Financial: Insurance will be matched by employer
Contract Completion Bonus: Provided upon completion of one year contract
Vacation: Total 10 days of (summer/winter) paid vacation and Korean National Holidays.
Housing: Provided housing in Sinsa Area or Garosugil
Flight Allowance: One way ticket reimbursement
4. Candidate Qualifications:
4 year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Those of Christian faith preferred
Must be a citizen from: the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, or South Africa
Teaching license holder or those with Kindergarten teaching experience preferred
5. Location:
We're located in Gangnam-gu which is one of the most famous and popular places in all of Seoul. We are located right next to Apgujeong which is known as Seoul’s Rodeo Drive. Here you can find many different shops and restaurants to explore. From here, you can take a quick 20 minute bus ride to Gangnam where you can explore even more eateries and shopping areas.
