Seoul Academy Counselor
Job summary
Working in partnership with grade level teachers, Counselor is a leader who support student’s emotional, academic, and social achievement. to support all students in and out of the classroom both emotionally and academically. The counselor is responsible for supporting school wide-strategic plans, programs, policies and initiatives. The contract period for this position is from August 4, 2021 until July 31, 2022.
Responsibilities
Implementation of effective counseling support regarding social, emotional, and academic aspects of students, both in group and individual formats
Support school faculty in areas of student learning
Ability to design, develop, and deliver effective plans to carry out the role
Work with leadership team and administration
Attend various meetings to discuss student related issues
Coordinate communications with parents and faculty on related matters, conducting individual appointments when necessary
Conduct MS counseling classes (up to 6 classes per week)
Other duties as needed
Qualifications
Excellent human relations, communication and organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills in English & Korean
Excellent organization skills
Flexibility in working with diverse students
Previous teaching experience, to include some experience instructing adults
Background/education in counseling psychology or related field (preferred)
Master’s degree or counseling license (preferred)
